Although most people are ecstatic at the news that lockdown is to be uplifted on Monday the 11th May 2020, a lot of people are very critical. This is because according to The Guardian 'Britain has the worst coronavirus death toll in Europe, official figures showed on Tuesday, prompting calls for an inquiry into the handling of the pandemic.'
This has brought concern to many people and has made people question whether the lockdown should be uplifted at all. I spoke with some first year university students One named Nana, and the other called Adowa. Adwoa believes that it will be uplifted but not fully and will be in stages therefore still ensuring safety where as Nana feels that 'there should be no easing at all'
Though both are justified, ultimately it will be Boris Johnson who will make the final decicion. The Prime Minister will be announcing the changes in form of a speech on Sunday evening at 7pm (10/05/2020).
